Is Your Diet a Death Sentence?

At any given moment, fifty percent of American women are
on a diet. The extent that this has become a mania in our
country has shown in the way we are constantly striving
towards thinness. This is a multi-billion dollar business,
where pictures of lean, well-toned young men and women
stare at us from every magazine and invite us to spend our
hard earned cash to look like them. A lot of women who
buy these products end up losing their health as well as
their cash.

One of the tragic results of a poor diet plan is the onset
of osteoporosis. This comes about as a result of the lack
of calcium that your body needs in order to maintain

responsible for depriving women of this essential mineral,
causing them to lose bone density and resulting in

But this is not true. We all need dairy products in our
diets. It is necessary for good bones and health. Studies
have even shown that you lose weight instead of gaining it.

research before hand! There are many healthy diets out
there that you can choose of the drastic, chemical fixes.
This could end up saving your life, and certainly your
health. Avoid going on a dangerous diet that promises a
quick weight loss and find a diet that will not only keep
you thin for life, but will also keep you healthy for life.
A diet that eliminates a food group entirely is dangerous.
Know the dangerous diets. To remain healthy, we need a mix
of nutrients. If a diet promises instant results, beware.

The famous Atkins Diet affords your body the least amount
of calcium and therefore should be considered dangerous to
your overall health. Some other diets that pose potential
problems because they eliminate healthy calcium are Sugar

Prescription and Body for Life. Any diet such as these that
eliminate calcium from your diet will eventually cause many
health problems related to osteoporosis.

Calcitriol is the hormone that triggers the production of
fat cells in the body. Programs such as these can actually
cause your body to stop losing weight since your body will
be producing more calcitriol. The body will try to conserve
all the calcium it can by producing calcitriol, and by
doing so produce and store more fat cells. You reduce the
level of calcitriol in your body by eating healthy, low-fat
dairy products. This breaks down fats and helps you lose
weight. Your body uses diary products for calcium and
weight control. Dispel the myth that they are bad for you.

Healthy eating and a moderate exercise regimen is the only
proven way to maintain a trim figure. Don't be fooled by
a diet ad that show a thin, healthy looking person. The
model in the ad probably stays that way by eating a healthy
diet and getting plently of exercise, not by taking diet
pills full of chemicals.
